GOLD FOR ŘIPSKÁ ON HOME SOIL
The Czech Team Championship was the culmination of the season and also the final tournament. Our club hosted the eight best teams in the Republic, among which was our A Team, in the composition of Erős, Houdek and Bröschel. With a very well-balanced starting field it was hard to determine a tournament favorite. MPC Pardubice (Žalman-Hajdovský-Brancuský-Tužil), Billard Centrum Praha (Gavenčiak-Stuna-Vobořil-Hajšman), the defending champions Balabuška Praha (Křenek-Bernášek-Hoffman) and Mníchovo Hradiště (Dorobant-Nohynek-Krausner). In the other teams, there were other stars of Czech Billiards, among which was new Czech representative Petr Urban and also multiple Czech Champion Jan Meisner from Harlequin.
The captain of our team, Dávid Erős, formed a four-member team consisting of himself, Houdek, Bröschel and Akenhead for the final battle. We started the first match against BC Harlequin Praha. Adam plays a high break of 59 against Pavel Balaštík, Meisner does not give much chance to our Honza and wins 9 : 3. The decisive match of the series is between Akenhead and Vladyka which comes to a dramatic conclusion when Vladyka makes a fatal mistake and James wins 8 : 6, in doing so we move to the next round.
The quarterfinals were just as well-fought as the previous matches. James is the first to lose. He loses to Kraušner 7 : 9. He was making a comeback from 1 : 6. Unfortunately, at the score of 7 : 8, he makes a big mistake, which becomes a point for the opposition. Dávid Erős and Dušan Nohynek played a good-quality and well-balanced match in 8-ball. Dávid kept a calm head at the end and at 7 : 6 broke and cleared to finish the match 8 : 6. The series was now 1 : 1, with Adam Houdek and Slávka Dorobant in 14/1 playing the deciding match. The close and nerve racking match conclusion eventually hit better for Adam and won 100 : 86. As a result, our team advances to the semifinals.
SEMIFINALS
Our opponent was the favored MPC Pardubice. After the players were deployed to the various disciplines, it was clear that David had to win and Honza or Adam had to make a point. The matches developed very well on two tables, Bröschel kept pace with the Hajdovský, Adam also played well with Žalman. Dávid made a series of high breaks against Tužil and took a safe lead. Nearly all matches ended simultaneously. Dávid with a run of 28,26,26 wins with an impressive score of 100 : 36, Bröschel loses 6 : 9 with Hajdovský and the key match is won by Adam Houdek with David Žalman 8 : 5. We are going to the finals.
FINALS
We fought for the title with the selection from Billiard Centrum Praha A. At the final stage, our rivals managed to obtain the Czech number 1 Michal Gavenčiak, followed by Jakub Stuna, the current 10-ball champion and Zdenek Vobořil. Once players were deployed, Adam and James could be expected to be the deciding factors again. Bröschel played a super game in 9-ball with Vobořil when he won with a lot of room to spare with a score of 9 : 3. Dávid faces Michal Gavenčák in 14/1. Unfortunately, David does not manage to play many high breaks, only playing 26, 21, which is not enough to beat Michal, because in the 5th run Michal plays a break of 68 and thus basically clinches the match. David gets one more chance at the table, but he does not make use of this opportunity and loses 56 : 100. The series now tied at 1 : 1, as Adam and Jakub play the deciding match. At that moment the status is 5 : 5 with it being a race to 8 games. In the next game, both players are nervous and the pressure is enormous. First of all, on a simple ball a mistake is made by Adam, Jakub is unable to finish an easy table, and Adam takes a lead of 6 : 5. However, Jakub, who is the one to break, makes a clearance and makes it 6 : 6. After tactical battle and a few errors it is 7 : 7. The last game for the title. Adam is the one to break, he made a few lazy and bad breaks before, however this time he hits it perfectly and drops 4 balls on the break. There is a simple position on the table. However, there is nothing simple in this state. Fortunately, Adam is an experienced player and keeps the nerves under control and plays the table without complications. After sinking the last black ball, a giant roar sounds and Řipská celebrates the title of Czech Team Champions.
We would like to thank our athletes and congratulate them for their fantastic performances and that they managed to win the prestigious title of Czech Team Champions in a huge competition for our club.

"We managed to win a very valuable and great victory, our team was fighting for their life’s and everyone was able to contribute to the success. Before the tournament, when I saw the teams, I knew we would not have easy matches and every game would be crucial. Fortunately, we came together well and in excellent form. The mental and psychological readiness of our team shows that we were able to overturn the most important moments to our advantage. It would be hard to determine the best team player, but the truth is that Adam won 4 of the 4 key games. I would like to thank my team for great performances, mutual support and I hope to repeat our success next year as well."
Zlato, stříbro, bronz a páté místo pro Řipskou na Mistrovství republiky v 8-ball
Obrovského úspěchu dosáhli závodníci našeho klubu na první etapě Mistrovství republiky jednotlivců. Perfektní start nemohl lépe dopadnout pro naše sportovce, jelikož odvezli zlatou, stříbrnou a bronzovou medaili. Adam Houdek obhájil titul mistra republiky, Dávid Erős obhájil stříbro z minulého roku a Jan Brőschel přidal do svojí sbírky svojí první medaili z jednotlivců. Poprvé na sebe obléknul dres Řipské Josef Nechvíle, který výborně reprezentoval náš klub a přidal krásné 5. místo.
O víkendu 9.-10.září 2017 se odehrála kvalifikace i hlavní část MČR v 8-ball, domácí hernou tentokrát byl Harlequin Praha. Náš klub reprezentovali pouze 4 závodníci, avšak jejich kvalitu známe, očekávali jsme dobré výsledky. Kvalifikovat se musel Jan Brőschel i Adam Houdek. Dávid Erős i Josef Nechvíle již byli nasazeni do elitní 32ky. Honza s Adamem narazili na sebe hned v kvalifikační skupině. Zvítězil Honza, který vyhrál i svoje další zápasy a celou kvalifikaci. Adam se se štěstím probojoval taktéž, když těsně poráží Balana Arrivukkanana.
V neděli mezi nejlepších 32 nastoupili naši borci se skvělou hrou:

O postup mezi 16 nejlepších už jsme mohli vidět ostřejší zápasy, avšak náš výběr nezklamal a 2 ze 4 hráčů se probojoval na první pokus:
Adam Houdek : Josef Velíšek 8:5
Dávid Erős : Petr Brancuský 8:4
Jan Brőschel : Petr Urban 5:8
Josef Nechvíle : Marek Hajdovský 2:8
Druhou a zároveň poslední šanci museli Honza a Pepa využít a také tak učinili, kdy Honza poráží Pavla Halamku 6:3, Pepa Pavla Hajna 6:3
LAST 16
Rozhodně nejtěžší zápas čekal na Pepu Nechvíleho, který si vylosoval aktuální českou jedničku Jana Meisnera. Avšak zápas se pro outsidera Pepu vyvíjel skvěle, Pepa dokáže využívat chyby soupeře a sám přidává čisté hry. Velkému úspěchu se tedy dočkal náš nováček, který vyřazuje českou jedničku poměrem 8:5.
Adam Houdek vylosoval hratelnějšího Maria Mariče. Na psychiku těžší soupeř však ten den nedokáže Adama dostat pod tlak, což je jasně vidět na výsledku, kdy Adam vyhrává 8:2.
Taktický a velký souboj se odehrál mezi Honzou Brőschelem a Jirkou Vackem. Začátek zápasu je velice vyrovnaný, avšak konec zvládá lépe Honza a postupuje vítězstvím 8:4 do čtvrtfinále.
Dávid Erős si vylosoval Tomáše Vančuru. Jednoznačná převaha a skoro bezchybná hra Davida je velice těžko zranitelná a Tomáš s tím nic nedokázal udělat. Výhra v poměru 8:1 není třeba komentovat.
Čtvrtfinále – boj o medaile a hned 4 závodníci v dresu Řipské!!!
Bylo velkou otázkou, zda Jan Brőschel prolomí smůlu, historii, psychický blok a získá svojí první medaili z MČR. Jasná medaile pro Řipskou byla už před začátkem zápasů, jelikož Pepa se nalosoval na Adama. Tento zápas byl vysoce kvalitní z obou stran, avšak zkušenější Adam zvládá vypjatý závěr lépe i s drobným štěstím a vyřazuje Pepu v poměru 8:5.
Dávid Erős narazil na Jana Suchánka, kde jsme čekali vyrovnaný zápas. Honza se dostal do vedení 2:0, avšak David zbytek zápasu zahrál téměř bez chyby a vítězí nad soupeřem vysoko 8:3.
Psychicky nejnáročnější a také časově nejdelší zápas se odehrál mezi Honzou Brőschelem a Jakubem Stunou. Vyrovnaný, pečlivý a pomalý zápas došel ke stavu 6:6, kdy se nasazuje časový rozhodčí. Ten moment to bylo ještě náročnější pro hráče, obzvlášť pak pro Honzu, kde bojoval nejen se soupeřem ale i se svým psychickým blokem pátých míst na MR. Za tohoto stavu Stuna netrefí černou kouli a velkým dárkem posílá Honzu do vedení 7:6. V další hře Honza hezky dohrává stůl, avšak poslední kouli netrefuje, ale pod časovým tlakem i Stuna chybu udělá a Honza již nekazí a zápas dotáhne do konce, zvítězí 8:6.
SEMIFINÁLE: 3 ze 4 hráčů Řipské v boji o titul
Jan Brőschel narazil na Adama Houdka. Spokojení spoluhráči si to spolu rozdali o finále, kdy vypadalo, že je Honza favoritem. Vedl již 5:1, avšak v ten moment udělal hloupou chybu, po které se chytl Adam a vývoj celého zápasu se otočil. Honza má smůlu v dohrávkách a Adam sklízí otevřené stoly a bod po bodu se přibližuje k finálové účasti. Nakonec zvítězí 8:6.
Dávid Erős měl v semifinále jednoho z největších favoritů turnaje Marka Hajdovského. Diváci mohli vidět krásný zápas, kdy Marek rozstřeluje jak z jiné planety ☺ Začátek zápasu je velice vyrovnaný 3:3, poté se Marek dostane do vedení 5:3. Následně David přes taktickou bitvu Marka přinutí k chybě, svoje šance využívá, zápas otáčí a dočká se velkého úspěchu 8:5.
FINÁLE: ŘIPSKÁ vs ŘIPSKÁ, neboli odveta z minulého roku
Přesně před rokem Adam Houdek porazil v Pardubicích o titul Davida poměrem 8:5. Letos v Praze měl David šanci to Adamovi vrátit. Avšak zápas se pro Davida vyvíjel hodně tragicky. V nočních hodinách dělá hůř soustředěný David spoustu chyb a zápas je v plné moci Adama. Dostává se do vedení 6:0, 7:1, následně se na chvíli do hry zapojí i David a stáhne stav na 3:7. V tu chvíli Adam zavře zápas čistou hrou a výsledkem 8:3 OBHAJUJE TITUL MISTRA REPUBLIKY v 8-ball.
Našim sportovcům gratulujeme, fantastický úspěch pro náš klub a věříme, že v 9-ce budou stejně dominovat a přinesou další medaile a tituly.
History of billiard hall
Billiard Club Řipská has been here for you since June 1993. The original premises were used as the Cinema Slavia in the past.
The building is located 30 metres far from the square "Náměstí Jiřího z Poděbrad".
In the beginnings this place was used as the carom and poolbilliard hall only. There were 200 x 100 cm billiard tables used there by the players. Despite the fact the club became to be one of the most famous billiard clubs of its time.
Almost immediately the club gained wide spectrum of fans across all generations. The main reason for the increasing popularity was amongst others, its nice environment in the centre of the city, quality equipment, professional stuff and also wide offer of warm, cold and mixed drinks.
As the time has passed, the quality of game started to grow. Naturally, new base of poolbilliard and carom players was created. This led to the fact that in 1995 there was founded a sports club Billiard Club Řipská , Praha. Then it was necessary to completely replace the original equipment and take another new billiard tables to be more professional.
„Small“ poolbilliard tables has been replaced by 9ft professional tables Brunswick and Longony. „Small“ caroms tables has been replaced by Helta and Søren Søgaard (210 x 105 cm) professional carom tables. Additionaly to this another 2 new exclusive billiard tables Heinz brand (284 x 142 cm) were supplemented.
The billiard room became not only a great asylum for sports club and his members but has become a popular destination for tourists, amateur players from the general public offering a wide variety of games including darts.
The excellent club facilities generated a lot of excellent and top players. There were raised many excellent players representing the brand name of Billiard Club Řipská - for example Jan Bröschel, Veronika Liebová, Jan Vitouš, Jan Škvor and the others.
All these players are fully respected and recognized also at international level during the international tournaments where they won many titles and prizes at several prestige international tournaments. Congratulation !
In the period of 1999 to 2001 Mr. Štepán Kohout together with Mr. Jan Vitouš even 3 times won the title Master of the Czech Republic in 2 member group category (large table 284 x 142 cm).
In 2001 also the group of pool players Zaid Al-Tammimi, Adam Houdek, Pavel Zeman a Jan Bröschel won the title of „Master of the Czech Republic in 4 member poolbilliard group category“ .
Our pollbilliard players also won Štvanice team competition in the spring of 1999 and also in the autumn of 1999. In the spring of 2000 they placed at the second position.
In 2004 we have established a fully equiped modern kitchen and we hire a chef cooking for visitors of Billiard club Řipská .
Since 2004 you are always welcome to play billiard, carom, darts, drink excellent drinks and coctails but also to have a very good and tasty meal - lunch or dinner prepared for you untill the late night. We offer wide spectrum of warm dishes. You may have a look at our menu.
Our goal is to create a culture, stylish, clean and cozy environment for all our customers that is fully equiped by modern furniture, modern and professional billiard tables perfectly and professionally maintained so that´s why we are doing upgrade and reconstructions at regular intervals.

Billiard club Řipská is also very famous and wanted place for different kinds of parties. We are always able to rent the whole place to companies organizing the specific parties. We are able to provide the whole gastronomy and catering service fully in accordance with your specific requests and demands.
